Recently you had an article and online poll about politicians using public funds for political gain. Fair enough. Are you now going to ask that about the proposed giveaway of $10,000 in tax dollars to some folks by Joe Biden and friends? How silly of my son to pay his off last year!

Trump supporters gathered Aug. 21 with signs and flags near the Route 224 and South Avenue intersection in Boardman. Of course, I support free expression. I smiled and gave the twirling screwball sign around my ear. (Free expression, remember?) A woman shouted, “Oh, so you’re a pedophile too?” I invited her to walk to my car; she did not. Look in the mirror, Trumpers. This is what Trump has turned you into. You must be proud of what you’ve become.

What exactly does the word “activist” mean? Perhaps a loud self-proclaimed expert? Jimma McWilson is wrong that failing schools aren’t the blame of parents. Aren’t school food programs a result of parents not feeding their own children? People should wise up.

Can someone explain why it’s OK to have an “expletive” Biden sign in public view? I saw a woman driving a large SUV containing that sign in large letters. Don’t people think about their children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, neighbors’ children? Why do some people think it’s OK to expose children to this? What are they teaching elementary, middle school and high school students regarding respect and acceptable behavior? I don’t get it.

When law enforcement investigates a company CEO of embezzling money for personal use, it’s not a witch hunt. When construction company records are taken by law enforcement for possible tax evasion, it’s not a witch hunt. When a nonprofit’s computers are seized by law enforcement for potentially defrauding donors, it’s not a witch hunt. So, why is it a witch hunt when a former president is being investigated for allegedly removing classified or top-secret documents?

The lawyer making $124,999 just became wealthier by having some of his student loans forgiven. Democrats added $300 billion to the debt,
and American taxpayers now are responsible for the debt. When will Democrats stop pandering to special-interest groups and think about the burden they are imposing on taxpayers? Why should the waitress, the plumber and the fireman pay for someone else’s loan? What
message does this send to
current student loan recipients? Don’t bother paying your loans.

The first 44 U.S. presidents of the United States did not take 700 classified documents home after they left the presidency. POTUS 45 stored them in a basement of a hotel where guests and other uncertified people had access. Some documents were marked top secret. Why did he take them? Probably to benefit himself. He has put this country in serious danger.

Donald Trump is not planning a run for president. He’s planning a run for dictator. His first attempt to stay in power failed, but he’s gotten smarter. He is eliminating any Congress member who stands up to him. He appointed Supreme
Court justices who follow his orders. He is pushing redistricted maps thereby reducing voting access to nonsupporters. If all this is fine with you, live in one of the dictatorships for a month. Know what you’re voting for.

The news reported Joe Biden is canceling $10,000 in student loans. I’m sure many people think this is great, but what about people who paid off their loans? What about parents who paid for part of their child’s tuition? Are these people going to get reimbursed? This is just an election year stunt to try and buy votes. Many politicians themselves and their children will benefit. It must be nice to be able to help yourself like the politicians do!

I am a woman who golfs at Mill Creek Golf Course. I think this golf course was built before women were golfing. The bathrooms on the course are scarce, leading me to believe that men can use other means to relieve themselves. Perhaps instead of spending so much money on legal fees to pursue a bike trail, they should build more bathrooms. I am sure there are more women golfers than there are bikers.

It’s puzzling why someone who felt no qualms about torturing and killing a small, 12-year-old boy is so afraid of losing his own life. Danny Lee Hill spent over 30 years using every trick in the book to stay alive and avoid justice. What a coward! It’s time to stop wasting taxpayer money on this monster. Let justice be done. After all, an eternity in hell is not going to change by a few more days on earth.

This week’s Star Parker column is her personal endorsement of a candidate in the upcoming Oklahoma election. While she is entitled to her opinion, why must The Vindicator readers be subjected to it? It is wasted editorial space. It is time for The Vindicator to find a better writer.

Onion to the 40 to 50 drivers of trucks who think it’s OK to disrupt traffic flow and make so much noise by blowing their horns constantly. They did this at a favorite lake and vacation destination recently. So many family gatherings, reunions and events were taking place on a beautiful weekend in July! Maybe soon, participants in this type of Trump Train will realize just how ridiculous and selfish they look.

Joe Biden, the Democrats and some bipartisan Republicans have some notable accomplishments. They ended Afghanistan war; strengthened and expanded NATO; supported Ukraine; killed latest al-Qaida leader; passed infrastructure law; passed the IRA law; led us out of COVID-19; passed CHIPS; protecting our kids law, a gun law and the PACT Act for veterans. They returned about 20 million jobs with an unemployment rate of 3.5 percent. Several were bipartisan accomplishments. Great job!

Break into his house, then break into his safe. What is this? Nazi Germany or Russia? No representation. What else did they take? Who knows. The legal system, FBI and judges all have lost my faith or backing. Clintons murder, steal, put multi millions of illegal funds in a Canadian foundation, use texting and delete and destroy. They get nothing. They have just strengthened my resolve.

Seeing an overweight agent holding a machine gun along with a scared looking female agent in front of Trump’s Florida home made me wonder why these Praetorian FBI guards didn’t just bring in a few tanks with flame throwers to protect themselves from those pesky sand fleas so prevalent in Florida. All it did was convince me Trump needs to be our president again in order to rid ourselves of these malcontents called the Biden administration.
Trump is our only hope.

When politicians put their heads together and claim success, the outcome is seldom that. Leave us alone. A “budget” package that costs $740 billion? Doesn’t sound like a good deal. The question always is: Who pays? They are changing the definition of the word budget as they have so many other words. A country so far in debt wouldn’t seem to know how to budget. We need less big government and more personal responsibility — even from politicians.

All of the controversy recently over Mill Creek MetroParks bikeway completion is surprising to me. All of the landowners in Columbiana County knew more than 20 years ago that section was the final leg of the bike path from Lake Erie to the Ohio River. I find it surprising that no one has pointed this out to the public. Come on folks, you’ve known for years this was going to happen and you just now decided to argue?

Workers who do the most for the general public, keeping us safe and educated, are police, firefighters and teachers. If you really look at the wages of police and firefighters, who we demand assist us in need immediately, it is pathetic. If we look at what our teachers do for our nation’s children, they too, deserve appropriate pay for all they do and what is expected of them. Support them, they all deserve it.

Here I am wondering why Nancy Pelosi just has to go to Taiwan, when I read it is routine for members of Congress to take trips there. What? At what cost to taxpayers? What do they accomplish there that’s in our interest? I’m sure there are double-talk answers, but do they make sense to Americans?

The MAGA movement likely won’t survive much longer because they make enemies of anyone not in total agreement. They don’t believe we all have the same goal of improving life, but just differ in how to get there. Just ask Jeff Sessions, Liz Cheney, Cassidy Hutchinson and Rusty Bowers, etc. This creating enemies of everyone else and serfs of those who support you is how despots and dictators are created. Americans are smart and won’t accept life of serfdom.

I was deeply troubled by continued lies from Trump Republicans sent in a recent display complaining how Democrats are again spreading false stories about the Jan. 6 attack on our country. They claim it was filled by Democrats without Republican voices. Hello? Do you see Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney standing up for our country? Do you recall when all other Republicans walked away from their duty to defend the Constitution? Wake up folks. Defend the truth!

As a veteran, former hunter and NRA member, I believe that having
background checks would help prevent unstable individuals from obtaining a firearm. In light of the inability of our elected officials to pass background-check legislation, perhaps we should start by doing a background check on them.

Fifty U.S. senators support overturning Roe v. Wade. The same 50 will not consider a bill requiring universal background checks to purchase weapons, supported by 90 percent of the public. Are they saying it’s OK to bring all babies into this world and it’s OK they could be shot with an assault weapon? It is hypocritical. We need action
now. It’s not that difficult; stop thinking about power, and start thinking about what’s right.

First, I do not own a gun. Mass shootings in Texas and elsewhere are unconscionable. Now, all you hear are calls to ban guns or bullet magazines. Are we banning cars because evil people run over others? Are we banning food because some die from overeating? Why not ban alcohol because people are killed by drunken drivers? There is evil in this world. They don’t obey existing laws. What makes you think they’ll follow stricter laws? We need to stop evil!
