How is DiFabio qualified for seat?
DEAR EDITOR:
I am intrigued by the candidacy of Geno DiFabio running for Mahoning County commissioner against current Commissioner Carol Rimedio-Righetti. She has worked in collaboration with her fellow commissioners to reopen the former Youngstown Developmental Center in the Mahoning Valley, along with many other projects such
as the county courthouse restoration.
It’s been three-and-a-half years since the state shuttered the Youngstown Developmental Center, forcing local families to seek essential services for the disabled and mentally ill that were sometimes hours away. Look up what happened. It is appalling that this was done to those in this community who are among the neediest and most vulnerable in the state.
A number of area nonprofits now will be there and using the space and services to help those who need them the most.
The state chose to close it in 2017. God bless the commissioners for helping the most vulnerable.
Geno DiFabio Jr., what have you done, other than drive a truck, for a living? Being called on stage by the former president is not a qualification for a vital office.
