Thunberg’s maturity, knowledge refreshing

DEAR EDITOR:

I hope a lot of folks watched the special Earth Day premiere of “Greta Thunberg: A Year to Change the World” on PBS on April 22. This documentary follows the 18-year-old climate activist’s mission around the world to limit global warming. It covered much geography and the conditions and hazards of global warming.

She is too young to be a scientist, but not too young to seek the truth. She has been nominated for the Nobel Prize and was the youngest person ever to receive Time’s Person of the Year honor in 2019.

Her knowledge, maturity and comportment is so refreshing compared to the last occupant of the White House, whose lack of knowledge and aversion to scientific fact was atrocious.

It’s good to see a teenager so aware and so determined to speak and act in such a mature way — which would be impossible for a Washington, D.C., politician dialing for corporate dollars.

I’d even bet it wouldn’t take her seven years to discover Obama was born an American citizen.
