‘No Name Park’ would be better for Mosquito

DEAR EDITOR:

State Rep. Mike Loychik likely will be a one-term politician, as was his impeached idol, if he renames Mosquito reservoir for him.

Granted, “Mosquito” as a recreational center name probably makes the the tourist board itch, but it’s a better choice than Loychik’s. Read the Sound Off note from a Youngstown resident in the March 13 Vindicator about choosing the Stars and Stripes. The flag is the unifying symbol our republic and should fly over the public works of citizens. Naming those works for public persons whose service further unified and strengthened our republic is a good thing.

Naming them, as Mr. Loychik proposes, for the most divisive, destructive and shamelessly self-serving politician in recent history is a disgrace. I would prefer scratching bug bites and looking up to the flag with pride in “No Name Park” to losing my lunch at the sight of a garish, phony gold name in all caps anywhere near that park.
