Liberals longing for uniformity of thought

DEAR EDITOR:

Where have all the liberals gone? In the 1960s, the mantra was free speech was paramount. They would claim: I may disagree, but I would fight to the death to support your right to speak.

We have come a long way since the 1960s. Today, the left of center individuals praise Google and Apple for delisting Parler. Twitter and Facebook have consistently banned conservative speech.

This is frightening to think that in the USA free speech would be squelched. Uniformity of thought is what liberals of today long for.

Please don’t tell me these are private companies and not bound by the First Amendment.

The trouble is they themselves have claimed, “We are the new public square.” Being the public square means they should be bound by the First Amendment.

The big tech companies have aligned themselves with the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party now controls all branches of government. Corporations aligned with a government is literally fascism. This will shred the fabric of our society.

I would refer readers to books “Brave New World,” “1984” and “Animal Farm.” This is our future unless all Americans stop this censorship and cancellation of 50 percent of the country.

The quote from “Animal Farm,” “all animals are equal but some are more equal” is a prediction of what is coming to the USA. I would also refer the reader to the “Twilight Zone” episode, “The Obsolete Man.” This is a frightening film depicting life in a dystopian state.

I hope to see an editorial in The Vindicator strongly condemning these actions by the giant tech corporations. Ultimate power concentrated by one political party will destroy this republic.

As in Nazi Germany, when they came for me, there was no one left to speak up for me.
