Community must get involved in crime fight

DEAR EDITOR:

Just four days into the new year and Dodge City, once again, proves it’s alive and well. There were two murders in the first two days of 2021 in the city of Youngstown.

I watched the mayor and police officials on the news asking for the public’s help in obtaining information on these shootings to help law enforcement bring the criminal element to justice.

It’s not going to happen folks — not until the people of Youngstown are willing to take a stand, put their differences behind them and help law enforcement identify those who inflict pain and suffering on the innocent.

The people speak of change. If you want real change, you must get involved. You talk the talk, but can you walk the walk?

Free your community of senseless violence that takes the lives of young people far too soon.

Stand tall and make the call to make Youngstown a better and safe place to live.

We are all in this together.
