Media reported falsely on President Trump

DEAR EDITOR:

First, let me say that I consider myself an independent voter, voting across party lines.

I must address the ridiculous accusation that Donald Trump advocated taking drinks to kill the virus. The man said things tongue-in-cheek and the foolish, so-called reporters ate it up just to make news, just as they have about buying Greenland. Where have the true news reporters gone?

What we have now are talking heads giving their unsought opinions. From the beginning of this virus, I have watched and heard doctors (Fauci is one of them) during news reports suggesting that masks were not necessary. The president listened to them and followed their advice until they changed their minds. So who is to blame?

To say he has done nothing to combat the virus is ridiculous. He invested billions of dollars in the Warp Speed Program, and the results are a vaccine in an incredibly short time. To blame him for all the deaths is also ridiculous (think Gov. Cuomo of New York and his nursing facilities).

There is no other nation in the world that has tried to control this virus as much as our own. If you listen closely to President-Elect Biden, he is suggesting to combat the virus in the process that is being done now. Shame on the press for not giving the president credit for all the good he has actually done.

As far as a divided nation, since before he was even elected, Democrats vowed to impeach Trump, and shamefully some members of Congress have even suggested assassination, confronting Republicans wherever they find them, and the Hollywood elite holding a severed head and dreaming of burning down the White House. That’s not to mention the peaceful protests with a burning business in the background.

As far as abolishing the Electoral College, do a little research and learn why it was instituted in the first place. Abolishing it would mean the people on the East and West coasts would have control of all major elections.

Then people living in Beaver Township would have no say on who would be elected president. Yes, Trump has lost, so put on your mask and big-boy pants, and get on with your life, as most people have.
