Two kinds of justice operate in America
DEAR EDITOR:
As protest and violence rage through the country over the death of George Floyd, why are there no protest marches and calls for justice for the people who are shot and killed in Detroit and Chicago each week? Don’t those lives matter? Or is black people killing black people OK when it’s not a white cop doing the killing?
It also is sad that the tragic death of one can give a few others an excuse to riot, loot and burn the streets of our cities. These few do nothing to honor the memory of Mr Floyd. His death is unacceptable, and those responsible should spend the rest of their lives in prison. We must, as a society, put our differences aside for the greater good.
We are all in this together.
