DEAR EDITOR:

First of all, the death of George Floyd was terrible, and the officer, if convicted, should be sentenced to life.

That said, it is quite upsetting hearing the press and progressive politicians continually talking about systemic racism. The USA has made great strides in race relations, and it is unfair to stir up the populous.

Are we perfect? No. But no nation on earth is perfect.

The major cities and school systems have been controlled by the Democratic Party for decades. So for them to complain of systemic racism is laughable.

If it exists, why haven’t they done anything to stop it? Guess these politicians are either stupid or incompetent, yet somehow manage to be elected year after year.

Protesting is fine. Rioting and looting should not be tolerated.

These leaders are watching destruction from which they may never recover.

Detroit never recovered from the riots in the 1960s, yet it had one of the lowest black unemployment rates in the nation.

Today’s Democratic party has no vision and only covets power more than anything else. Why they are continually elected baffles me.
