DEAR EDITOR:

The internet is knowledge at our fingertips with the rapidity of a speeding bullet. Could we ever have conceived of a mechanism that connects so many in a heartbeat with the ability to help humanity in so many wonderful ways?

Additionally, social media’s ability to connect humanity instantly is an incredible mechanism of communication. Never have we seen so many “experts” on everything under the sun than on social media.

Am I the only person who abhors and sees no redeeming value in the world of social media? I am especially sickened by our Twitter president, who uses this medium to entice every nutcase to come out of the woodwork to openly demonstrate hate, bigotry and intolerance for anything that does not resemble them.

The fact that bullies in Kentucky had the audacity to hang the image of their governor in effigy at his home is a direct result of the lies spread by social media.

Too bad. This form of communication had so much potential. The destructive aspect seems to have won favor with so many people.
