US should study group health insurance

DEAR EDITOR:

The COVID-19 virus is occupying politicians’ time. Distribution issues are in the forefront.

Maybe now is as good a time as any for the White House to examine how group health insurance accelerates or retards the transmission of contagious disease.

Group health insurance pretty much resists examination by competent authorities, because no one wants to believe $1 trillion a year spent to bankroll it is a huge, destructive mistake.

What does the White House have to lose by assembling a working group to ask questions about group health that most have been too afraid to ask for 80 years?
