Today’s Caesar and Brutus reside in D.C.

DEAR EDITOR:

A flip of the coin may hold our destiny. The Roman Empire lasted 500 years before it crumbled. If we are relying on power of weapons to carry us, then we have become shallower than imagined.

At one time, the Roman Empire had the greatest fighting force on earth.

The announcement of “Hail Caesar,” freezing the moment of time. When his legions marched, they literally destroyed everything in its path as locusts. “I came, I saw, I conquered.”

The very destruction of the Roman Empire was the same thing we have in America today- greed, disassembly of a government, division of a state, paralyzing citizens from uniting, untruthfulness and confusion of thought, drunkenness and drugs breaking the spirit of will.

A probable Civil War could resurface not with race, but wealth, bringing the collapse of civil order.

The genius of Julius Caesar, he understood he needed his enemies to work with his empire for survival. The dynasty that followed never understood the relationship with other nations.

A wall in America would not be Caesar’s strategy. He always advanced outward.

President Obama was an intellectual Caesar. The party that followed is today’s Marcus Brutus.
