Evidence exists in impeachment trial

DEAR EDITOR:

The Jan. 9 editorial, “Stop political games; move on with trial,” states the president was impeached “without evidence Trump committed unconstitutional acts” (majority Democrats in the House of Representatives impeached him last month. That should have set up a swift trial in the Senate).

I disagree.

If you had watched some of the testimony from the various witnesses, under oath, then how could you print such outright deception like this? Obviously, whoever wrote this editorial did not watch the House subcommittee proceedings.

I watched almost all of the House hearings. The testimony I heard, under oath, was overwhelming. President Trump clearly broke the law. But since he considers himself above the law, he doesn’t care at all about breaking the law.

The top of your Opinion page it states, “This newspaper is a politically independent publication.” Really, I don’t think so.
