Prosecute those who target police
DEAR EDITOR:
This is in response to the Aug. 19 editorial titled “Philadelphia incident shows police restraint.”
The person arrested for the shooting of the police officers in Philadelphia should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The six police officers who were shot doing their job have my respect and support for serving and protecting their city. But by no means can a single incident of restraint justify other multiple unjustified shootings and / or killing of people of color.
The officer in the Eric Garner choke hold case was finally fired from the NYC police department recently, five years after Garner’s death. What took so long?
