William M. Schiraldi 1943-2026

YOUNGSTOWN — William “Bill” Schiraldi, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2026, with his family by his side.

He was born on Dec. 25, 1943, in Lowellville, the son of Frank Sr. and Rose Lepore Sferra Schiraldi.

Bill graduated from Lowellville High School in June 1961. Afterward, he joined the U.S. Army where he proudly served his country from 1963 to 1965.

Bill was a longtime member of St. Luke Church and its Holy Name Society.

He was a Mason for over 50 years, former Master of Wick Lodge No. 481, High Twelve, American Legion and the Scottish Rite. He was also a part of Aut Mori Grotto known as “Buttons” the clown.

He leaves behind his wife of 48 years, the former Dorothy Tropea; son, Frank Schiraldi of Boardman; daughter, Mary (Brad) Smith; and beloved granddaughter, Sloane, both of Boardman; brother, Frank Schiraldi of Powell; sister, Madelyn Suchora of Poland; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman. In honor of Bill’s cherished role as “Buttons the Clown,” family and friends are invited to wear bright colors, if possible.

A Mass of the Repose of the Soul will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2026, at St. Catherine of Siena Parish at St. Luke Church, 5235 South Ave., Boardman. Meet directly at church for Mass.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Briarfield Manor, Hospice of the Valley, and Bill’s neighbors and friends for the kind and compassionate care shown to him.
