Sharon L. Virgalitte 1948-2026
POLAND — Sharon Linda Phillips Virgalitte, 78, of Poland, passed away at her home Thursday, July 2, 2026, following a short illness.
She was born on June 7, 1948, in Anne Arundel, Maryland.
After graduating from Austintown Fitch High School, Class of 1966, Sharon worked for the Packard Electric Co.
She married Stanley J. Virgalitte on April 8, 1967, at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Youngstown.
After raising her family, she worked at Dun and Bradstreet and Plan Services before her retirement in 2000, upon the birth of her first grandchild.
Sharon found joy in creating a beautiful home and raising her family with her husband of 59 years. She was the quintessential wife, mom, and homemaker. Sharon was a terrific baker, especially cookies and quickbreads. She loved to laugh. Sharon never missed an event for the people she loved and delighted in celebrating their accomplishments, big and small.
She enjoyed game shows, British comedies and mysteries, puzzles, and almost any sweet treat. If her adventures led her to pick up a lottery ticket along the way, Sharon thought that was the cherry on top of the day.
Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Stanley; daughters, Sherri (Stephen), Lisa (Anthony) and Julie (Garry); grandchildren, Victor, Nicolas and Francesca; sisters, Candice and Penny; along with nieces and nephews, including grand and great-grand.
A Memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 31, at St. Catherine of Siena Parish/St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7345 Westview Drive, Boardman.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making memorial contributions to Hospice of the Valley – Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Youngstown, OH 44514.
Arrangements for Mrs. Virgalitte are being provided by the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel, 65 N. Broad St., Canfield.
