Lorence S. Schwartz 1947-2026

Lorence was born July 17, 1947, at Northside Hospital in Youngstown, the son of the late Paul and Belle Farber Schwartz. He graduated in 1965 from Boardman High School.

After high school, he attended Youngstown State University, where he became a member of Zeta Beta Tau fraternity. He enlisted in the Army Reserve and served from 1968 to 1974.

In 1977, he became responsible for the full operation of their family business, Youngstown Cabinet Works, after the death of his father. Lorey believed the knowledge and skills he acquired at the family business helped him in his pursuit of future endeavors.

In 1985, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, and began his career as a self-employed consultant specializing in supply chain management. During his free time, he enjoyed traveling and had several memorable experiences.

He was a longtime member of St. Petersburg Vinoy and Lakewood Ranch country clubs, where he loved playing tennis and pickleball. He also volunteered at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg with his devoted therapy dog “Baby.”

Although he moved away from Ohio many years ago, he always remained a loyal Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

He is survived by a sister, Sandria Gallucci of Aliquippa, Pa., and several nephews, cousins and friends.

There will be no calling hours. Interment will take place in the columbarium in the Rodef Sholom Chapel at Tod Cemetery in Youngstown.
