Linda Robinson 1954-2026
MANSFIELD — Elder Linda Gersenna Robinson, lovingly known as “Sug,” 71, of Mansfield, transitioned from this earthly tabernacle to her heavenly home on Monday, July 13, 2026, at The Ohio State Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital.
Elder Robinson was born Dec. 24, 1954, in Youngstown, to the union of William Jackson and Ellen Brown Jackson.
She was a 1972 North High School graduate and attended Youngstown State University.
She was formerly employed as an assisted living caregiver and was a devoted foster care mom for over 20 years.
Linda was an ordained minister, serving at Oasis of Love in Mansfield. Prior to relocating from Youngstown to Mansfield, she was a devoted member of Rising Star Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, served in the choir and women’s fellowship.
Motivated by her deep love for others, Linda founded “Safe Place,” a women’s outreach dedicated to encouragement, healing and spiritual growth. As her calling continued to evolve, she launched the Just for Me podcast, extending hope and inspiration to an even broader audience. Linda was also a gifted playwright.
Next to her love for the Lord, Sug’s greatest joy was her family. She delighted in bringing everyone together, faithfully organizing holiday celebrations, birthday parties and family gatherings that created treasured memories for all.
Linda leaves, to carry on her legacy of love, her beloved husband, Vaughn E. Robinson; daughter, Shellie Jackson of Granville; son, Vaughn E. Robinson Jr. of Mansfield; and daughter, Jessica and son-in-law, Brian Rogers of Atlanta, Georgia. She also leaves two grandchildren, Gabrielle Robinson and Jackson Rogers. Precious memories are also retained by her siblings, Minister Martha Conyer-Allen (Walter) and Edward Ronald Jackson; along with many other family and friends.
As Linda’s faith became sight, she was reunited with her parents and her sister, Billie Joyce Jackson.
The public is invited to celebrate Linda’s remarkable life on Monday, July 27, 2026, at the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church located at 1210 Himrod Ave., Youngstown, OH 44506.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Her Celebration of Life service will follow at 12 noon.
