James W. Goodyear 1947-2026
MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — James Wayne Goodyear, 79, died early Tuesday morning, July 21, 2026, at home.
He was born March 12, 1947, in Warren, a son of Lorain Wayne and Elnora Ekis Goodyear.
James was a longtime Hubbard resident and a Hubbard High School graduate, before moving to the Harrisburg, Pa., area.
He was employed at Goodhart Sons Incorporated before retiring in 2010. He previously worked at Youngstown Sheet and Tube for 20 years.
James was proud to serve in the United States Air Force, was an avid fan of auto racing, football and golf, and was of the Protestant faith.
James leaves his daughter, Amy Lynn (Kris) Kersetter of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; his brother, Gary Goodyear of Hubbard; two sisters, Terri Hamley of Hartford, Connecticut and Lori (Dan) Kraynak of Chambersburg, Pa.; three grandsons, Jeffrey, Mason and Brennan; and two great-grandsons, Cole and James.
James was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Bill Hamley.
Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2026, at The Kelley-Cummins Funeral Home, with a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m., the funeral home, with Pastor David Coxson officiating.
