Rosemary Wolfgang 1936-2026

POLAND — Rosemary Hoover Wolfgang passed away peacefully Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the age of 89, surrounded by her loved ones.

Rosemary was born July 8, 1936, in Alliance, to Herbert Hoover and Esther Zyrd Hoover, and graduated from Alliance High School in 1954.

After attending beautician school, Rosemary met the love of her life, Richard Wolfgang, to whom she was married on Aug. 11, 1957. Richard and Rosemary raised two sons, Robert and Michael, and one daughter, Patricia, in Poland, where Rosemary worked in the school cafeteria for 17 years, until her retirement in 1991.

Following her retirement, Rosemary enjoyed spending her winters in Sebring, Florida, spending time in her garden, cooking and baking, winning countless blue ribbons for her craftsmanship in quilting but was most proud of her wonderful family.

Happily married for 67 years, Rosemary and Richard also were devoted members of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Boardman.

Rosemary is survived by her son, Michael Wolfgang of Hillsborough, North Carolina; daughter, Patty (McFarland) Wolfgang of New Wilmington, Pa.; six grandchildren, Jake Wolfgang of Charlestown, Rhode Island, Dr. Tahlia Wolfgang of Bangor, Maine, Jack (and Beverly) Wolfgang of Burlington, North Carolina, Joseph “JD” Wolfgang of Richmond, Kentucky, Wayne McFarland (Steven Cable) of East Palestine and Sarah (Grant) Signor of Youngstown; and five great-grandchildren; and a sister.

Rosemary was predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband, Dick; her son, Bob and daughter-in-law, Rina Sky Wolfgang; and her five brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call noon to 12:45 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2026, at Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman, followed immediately by a funeral service beginning at 1 p.m.

She will be laid to rest with her husband in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
