Lula R. Stubbins 1935-2026
YOUNGSTOWN — Lula Rae Stubbins, 90, transitioned this life on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at her residence.
Ms. Stubbins was born Sept. 1, 1935, in Lower Peachtree, Alabama, to parents Carol Jones and Roslene Pate.
She attended East High School and retired in 1994 from Southside Hospital after 37 years as head supervisor in the cafeteria.
She was a faithful member of St. Andrewes A.M.E. Church.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Rufus (Joyce) Lovett of Colorado and Monique (Derrick) Sherman of Youngstown; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her two special friends, Hester Lindsey and Rosie Yates.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Stubbins; her parents; her son, Stanford (Peety) Lovett; and her brothers, Frank, Floyd and Houston Jerry Jones.
A homegoing celebration will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026, at St. Andrewes A.M.E. Church, with visitation 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
