Barbara A. Villani 1941-2026
POLAND — Barbara A. Villani, known affectionately as “Barb,” passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the Hospice of The Valley in Youngstown, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 24, 1941, in Youngstown, Barbara’s life was marked by dedication to her family, her career, and the joy she found in shared moments.
A graduate of East High School, Barbara went on to serve as a Legal Secretary at the Mahoning County Prosecutor Office, where her professionalism and commitment were highly regarded.
Beyond her career, she was a woman who treasured having fun with family and friends — her lively spirit was evident in activities she loved, such as dancing, cookouts and frequent bowling outings with her cherished girls club.
Barbara’s warmth extended into her personal life, where she nurtured deep bonds with her family. She was a devoted wife to Edward J. Villani and a proud mother to her sons, Paul (Joya) Villani and Michael Villani. Her love embraced the next generation as well, with grandchildren Julianna and Joseph Villani bringing her immense joy. Barbara also shared a close relationship with her sister, Jeanne (Rick) Zelina.
Her roots remained deeply planted in Youngstown, where she was born and lived much of her life, yet she also embraced an annual pilgrimage to the Outer Banks, a cherished tradition she held dear with her family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Margaret (Bengala) Santore, and her brother, Thomas “Murph” Santore.
To honor her memory, visitation will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. April 22, 2026, at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, 2726 Center Road (U.S. Route 224), and continue from 10 until 11 a.m. April 23, 2026. A prayer service will follow at 11 a.m. April 23 at the same location.
A Mass of Christian Burial, a celebration of her life, will begin at 11:30 a.m. April 23, 2026, at Holy Family Church, 2729 Center Road, Youngstown, OH 44514.
Entombment will take place at Lake Park Cemetery.
Barbara’s life was a testament to love, joy, and dedication — a spirit who found happiness in the company of family and friends. Her memory will forever remain a blessing in the hearts of all who knew her.
