Thelma Patellis Capuzello 1938-2026
CAMPBELL — Thelma Patellis Capuzello, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026, at Hampton Woods in Poland.
Thelma was born Nov. 2, 1938, in Youngstown, a daughter of Economus and Sevasti Kourounis Patellis.
Thelma was a proud 1956 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and went on to attend YSU. She was a lifelong resident of Campbell.
She worked for Capital Cleaners and Masters Tuxedo. Thelma founded TNT Realty, owned several Sheet and Tube homes and built storage units to accommodate them.
Thelma was a parishioner at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church in Campbell and was a member of the Philoptohos Society.
She enjoyed reading, watching British mysteries and spending quality time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Thelma also enjoyed monthly breakfasts with her class alumni and time with her friends, “The Golden Girls,” Cali Kelly, Mary Zoumis, Mary Kavouklis, Sylvia Mastronikolas and Marge Geidans. Thelma will always be remembered for her big and loving heart and would help anyone in need.
Thelma will be deeply missed and always remembered by her daughter, Cilvia Xenikis of Campbell; her son, Nick (Caliope) Capuzello of Hubbard; her five grandchildren, Themelina, Kalotina (fiance, Nik Ruiz) and Marina Xenikis, and Nicholas and Caroline Capuzello; many nieces, nephews, godchildren, great-nieces and great-nephews whom she loved dearly; along with Cilvia’s ex-husband, George Xenikis, who remained a special part of Thelma’s life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Michael and Peter Patellis; and her sister, Anastacia Ellinos.
The Capuzello family has entrusted Thelma’s care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell. Calling hours will be 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church in Campbell. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., officiated by Fr. Steve Denas and Fr. Gus Valantasis.
Thelma will be laid to rest in Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Cemetery in Campbell.
