Christine M. Panamarczuk 1950-2026

YOUNGSTOWN — Christine M. Panamarczuk, 75, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at her home.

She was born April 18, 1950, in Brunswick, Germany, a daughter of the late Walter and Maria Karniewicz Panamarczuk. She attended St. Stanislaus Schools and graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School. She then went on to earn a secretarial degree from Youngstown State University and then the University of Akron, where she got a degree in industrial engineering.

Chris worked for Republic Steel in both Youngstown and Canton before becoming a project expeditor at Goodyear, where she helped manufacture underwater missiles — work she was deeply proud of. Over the years, she also worked at Giant Eagle as a cashier and at General Electric winding spools of filaments. She worked hard until the day she retired.

She was an avid reader and belonged to several book clubs throughout the years. She found genuine joy in discussing stories, sharing recommendations and always having another title waiting nearby. The Liberty Library was one of her favorite places and reading was not just something she did — it was part of who she was.

Chris also enjoyed her friendships, especially with her “lunch lady” friends — Karen, Linda, Sue and Debbie — and looked forward to her time with the Guy Coffee Clutch and the Liberty Wendy’s coffee club. She wasn’t often the most talkative, but she was an amazing listener. She paid attention and remembered the small details that made people feel seen.

Most of all, she always put others before herself, especially her family and friends. If someone mentioned liking something, even in passing, she remembered. She showed her love in quiet, consistent ways — through small acts of thoughtfulness, remembered details and steady presence. We will feel the weight of her absence deeply because we were so fortunate to have known her love.

Chris leaves behind those who loved her dearly, including her sister, Theresa (Carl) Krawiec; brother, John Panamarczuk; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Panamarczuk; nephews, Steve, Kevin (Lisa) and Michael (Niki) Panamarczuk; nieces, Susan (Rob) Pruden and Lisa (fiance, Will Countner) Cavell; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Alex, Ava, Zachary, Mila, Grayson, Nora and Fox.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Peter Panamarczuk; sister-in-law, Dorie Panamarczuk; uncle and aunt, Henry and Helen Karniewicz; and her maternal grandmother, Emilia Karniewicz.

Friends and family will be received from 10 to 11:50 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, following by a brief funeral service at noon. Please visit www.beckerobits.com to send the family condolences and share your memories.
