DaVon M. Edwards 1993-2025
YOUNGSTOWN — DaVon Montrayl Edwards, 31, departed this life at 1:38 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, following complications from an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 24, 1993, in Youngstown, the son of Leon Edwards III and Tenesha Rena Thomas.
He graduated in 2012 from East High School and in 2014 from Pittsburgh Technical Institute, where he received an Associate of Science degree in hospitality management administration.
DaVon was employed with Park Vista Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for two years as a culinary and food service technician before retiring in 2015. He also worked as a cook for Buffalo Wild Wings.
He was a member of World Fellowship Church and enjoyed football, basketball, singing, dancing and playing video games.
Left to mourn DaVon are his mother, Ms. Tenesha Rena Thomas of Youngstown; two brothers, Tre’Vaughn Thomas and Leon Edwards IV, both of Youngstown; cousin and caregiver, Ms. LaNae’ Thurman of Columbus; grandmother, Ms. Phyllis Ratliff of Columbus; grandfathers, Eddie Ashley and Stanley Brown Sr., both of Youngstown; great-grandmother, Ms. Norma Brown of Youngstown; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Edwards III; grandmother, Ms. Cynthia Diane Ashley; and grandfather, Cedric Adams.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, at the Sterling-McCullough Williams Youngstown Funeral Chapel, with calling hours 10 to 11 a.m.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Youngstown Funeral Home.
