Charlotte A. Rule 1937-2025
BOARDMAN — The family of Charlotte A. Rule is saddened to announce her passing on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025.
Charlotte, 88, is survived by her brother, Richard (Mary) Faull of Warren; a daughter, Alice DiGiovanni, also of Warren; a son, Robert (Kristina) Rule of Boardman; three grandchildren, Jackie (Mike) Aeschliman of Wisconsin, and Madison Rule and Austin Rule; and three great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Ava and Bailey Aeschliman.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Rule; a sister, Edna M. Rosenberg; and a stepbrother, William Faull.
Charlotte was born in Grove City, Pa., and married Robert D. Rule on March 15, 1968.
She attended Youngstown University. She worked at W.T. Grants Department Store and the Trumbull County Credit Bureau.
Charlotte was a talented fiber artist and loved to sew and crochet. Over the years, she made everything from uniforms for her granddaughter to various holiday craft items, doll outfits and afghans. In later years, she entered multiple times in the Canfield Fair arts and crafts exhibition and won many first place ribbons and best of show awards. Charlotte always enjoyed a good puzzle and was often in the midst of 1,000-piece to 1,500-piece puzzles.
She enjoyed her family immensely: she was their cheerleader and biggest fan — encouraging them in their interests, attending their sports and recreational functions and enjoying family vacations and many long stays with her eldest granddaughter and her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest treasure.
Charlotte was an avid sports fan and loved watching football and baseball games, attending the Indians baseball games in Cleveland, when she was able. She enjoyed card nights and outings to casinos with family, and evenings with Black Velvet in hand.
Charlotte suffered polio at a very young age. Even after multiple surgeries and broken bones through the years, she persevered and learned to work around her limitations. She bowled and played bocce. She loved her pets, particularly her Scottie dogs, and the Scottie dog became her trademark; she amassed quite a collection of Scottie dog figurines and items.
Charlotte always had a kind word and a smile for everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
