Thomas L. Sahli 1951-2025

NEW WATERFORD — Thomas Lee Sahli, 74, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.

He was the cherished son of Melvin and Barbara Wootton Sahli, who preceded him in death.

Growing up in the North Lima area, Thomas attended local schools and graduated from Avon High School in Avon.

He continued his education in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served for 20 years and specialized in fueling planes.

After his military service, Thomas became an over-the-road trucker for 20 years.

Thomas is survived by his beloved wife, Karen; his son, John Sahli; his daughter, Jenica Swartz; his stepson, Michael Libb; and his stepdaughter, Amy Neer. He was a proud grandfather to Addison Swartz, Jackson Swartz, Peyton Swartz and Cameron Seidl, as well as stepgrandfather to Morgen Libb, Emma Neer, Wyatt Neer and Brantley Neer. Thomas also leaves behind his siblings: sisters, Kathy (Ed) DiNardo and Judy (Tony) Ramirez, and brother, Edward (Heidi) Sahli. He is also survived by his loyal dog, Gracie, who brought him much joy.

Thomas was a passionate car enthusiast, known for his restored 1969 black Camaro. He enjoyed participating in drag racing events with his son, John, watching Western TV shows and was a devoted fan of the Cleveland Guardians. His love of travel took him to Florida and Tennessee.

The family will receive friends and loved ones 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, at Mount Olivet Church, 410 W. South Range Road, North Lima, where a funeral service will be held at noon, officiated by Pastor Tim Paroz.

Military honors will be accorded at the Mount Olivet Cemetery, following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Thomas’ memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516 or the Mount Olivet Mission Fund, 410 W. South Range Road, North Lima, OH 44452.
