Patricia Morella 1932-2025

GIRARD — Patricia Mae Morella, 92, passed away peacefully of natural causes Wednesday morning, July 30, 2025, at Shepherd of the Valley in Liberty.

Patricia was born Sept. 11, 1932, in Youngstown, the daughter of Patsy and Mary Diana Lucarell. She graduated from The Rayen School in 1950.

She was a homemaker for her husband and children. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish Patricia’s memory are four daughters, Lisa (Emil) Mango of Girard, Brenda (Dick) Johns of New Castle, Pa., Karen (David) Karch of Lake Milton and Susan (Gary) Trebilcock of Canfield; two sons, Brian (Teresa) Morella of Poland and Joseph Morella of Girard; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Barbara Zitkovitch of Poland and Joann Schanz of Youngstown.

Besides her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Morella; son, Robert Morella; two daughters, Mary and Elizabeth Morella; siblings, Minnie Long, Judy Connors, Annette Blair, Jean Braun Catoline, Anita Gieseler, Rosemary Lazar, Geraldine Brennan, Shirley Costas and Patrick Lucarell; and her beautiful granddaughter, Chelsey Lynn Morgenstern.

Friends and family will be received 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman.

Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, at the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica in Youngstown.

Patricia will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Mercy Health Hospice of the Valley and Shepherd of the Valley in Liberty for the kind and compassionate care shown to Patricia.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to the family, who will be making donations to Patricia’s favorite charities: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the American Diabetes Association.
