Eileen M. Stanton 1943-2025

POLAND — Eileen Margret Stanton, 82, passed away peacefully, Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Eileen was born March 26, 1943, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late George and Vera Morrison France. She was a 1961 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and went on to attend Youngstown State University.

Throughout her career, Eileen held several positions with local organizations. She began at First Benefits Insurance in Youngstown, working in the computer department, and later served as an administrative assistant with the Youngstown Area Grocers Association. Her final professional role was with Schwebel’s Baking Company in accounts receivable, where she worked until her retirement. In addition to her career, Eileen worked alongside her husband, Bill, at Stanton Market on Poland Avenue in Struthers, and assisted him in managing his apartment rental business.

She had a passion for crocheting and especially enjoyed creating afghans for family and friends. She loved traveling, trying her luck at the slot machines.

Eileen was a four-time cancer survivor and actively participated in the annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Eileen is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years, William L. Stanton, whom she married May 22, 1993; her children, Marie Bundrick of Florida, Carmen (Erin) Pezzone Jr. of Maryland, Shari Post of Akron, William Stanton Jr. of Poland and Amy (Scott) Hevener of Montana; seven cherished grandchildren; and her brother, Ronald (Mary) France of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Richard France.

Family and friends may call 11 to 11:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman. A funeral service will follow at noon Thursday at the funeral home, with Fr. Edward Brienz officiating.

Interment will take place at Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
