WHAT: Board of education meeting May 21

PRESENT: Cheryl Basista, Mark Bodo, Sam Caputo, Josh Garris and Tim Gleason

The board:

• Accepted the retirements of Paul Rees, high school science teacher; Kelly Hontula, third-grade elementary teacher; and Leslie Core, elementary music teacher, all effective May 31; and Lori Goudman, bus driver with 28 years in the district.

• Hired Jessica Ploskodmioak as an intervention specialist, Katie McConaughy as a fifth-grade teacher and Kimberly Sedmak as a third-grade teacher.

• Rescheduled the next meeting to 8 a.m. June 29.
