Mary Lou Beraduce 1925-2025

BOARDMAN — It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Mary Lou Beraduce, 100, on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Shepherd of the Valley, Boardman.
Mary Lou was born May 23, 1925, on the East Side of Youngstown and remained an area resident her entire life. She was the daughter of Samuel and Nellie Riley Burnett.
She married Dominic Beraduce in 1947 and had two daughters, Linda Beraduce and Denise (Pat) Butler, of whom she was very proud.
Mary Lou worked at New York Central Railroad and Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad and retired after 44 years of service. She worked her way up the ranks as the years passed and met every obstacle with determination and strength.
Left behind to cherish Mary Lou’s memory are her two daughters, son-in-law and two granddaughters, Katie and Lauren DiCola. Mary Lou found her greatest fulfillment in her role as grandmother to Katie and Lauren. She drove them to countless lessons and attended every concert, tennis match, volleyball game and karate tournament. She was so proud of them. They were the center of her world. Lastly, she leaves her canine buddy, Jackson, with whom she shared a special bond. Her family was her greatest joy.
During her time at Shepherd of the Valley, she made many friends of both residents and staff. In her last year she met Phil Chance, who spent every day with her, helping her and laughing with her. She also had a good friend in Greg Sefchik, who was always there for her during her hospital stays.
Besides her parents and her husband, Dominic, who passed away in 2013, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Samuel, Vincent and Robert; her sister, Arlene; and her son-in-law, Thomas DiCola Jr.
Her absence will leave an unfillable void and her love will be remembered and missed for the rest of our lives.
Private services were held and she was laid to rest next to her husband in Calvary Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman. Please visit www.beckerobits.com to send the family condolences and share your memories.
