WHAT: Board of Developmental Disabilities meeting Monday
PRESENT: Melissa Baker, Mary Cunningham, Mauro DiVieste, Jodi Glaser, Kimberly Hynes and Larry Larson
The board:
● Accepted the resignation of Elizabeth Calderone as a board member for personal reasons. The Trumbull County Probate Court will appoint someone to fill the remainder of the four-year term through December 2027.
● Reported work is continuing at the offices at the Tomaski Center off North Road and is expected to be completed by the end of August, with employees returning to the building in early September. An open house for the public is set Sept. 18.
● Announced students will return to school Aug. 25.
● Announced the fourth annual Ability Walk and Roll is set 4 to 9 p.m. Aug. 9 at Eastwood Field in Niles.
* Approved Christina Rudy as executive assistant to the service and support administration department on a one-year contract. She replaces Deborah Tomko, who retired.
● Approved Savannah Sheely as community and public relations specialist, effective July 3, which is a new position.
● Approved Shannon Shelton as assistant principal effective June 23, replacing Michelle Ocilka-Yeckle, who was named principal.
● Promoted Justin Torres to facilities maintenance supervisor effective July 1.
● Approved an agreement with the Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio for up to 80 days of school psychology services for the 2025-26 school year.

WHAT: Board of Developmental Disabilities meeting June 30
PRESENT: Mary Cunningham, Larry Larson, Mauro Divieste and Kimberly Hynes
ABSENT: Melissa Baker, Elizabeth Calderone and Jodi Glaser
The board:
* Was informed that remodeling work of the Tomaski Center building off North Road is continuing and is scheduled to be completed by mid-September.
* Approved a 4% pay increase for 80 non-bargaining unit employees, effective July 1. Business Manager Chad Hamm said the increase will cost the district $207,000.
* Hired Sonja Hixenbaugh as staff development specialist on a one-year contract. She fills an opening made available because of the transitioning of a vacancy from community services.
* Accepted the retirements of Anna Marie Smith as a classroom assistant, who has been with the program since February 2005, and Lorene Preston, who has been with the program since 1999.
* Approved a revised contract between Diamond Therapy for occupational and speech therapy services for one year through June 7, 2026.
* Announced the Fairhaven Foundation fourth annual ability walk and roll will be Aug. 9 at Eastwood Field in Niles.

WHAT: Educational Service Center governing board meeting June 30
PRESENT: Al Haberstroh, Denise Domhoff, Deborah Patchin and Tom Krispinsky
The board:
* Named Jenna Jordan as preschool supervisor on a two-year, 216-day contract effective Aug. 1. She previously served as a curriculum and instruction supervisor.
* Named Sage Mason as public relations coordinator on a one-year, 120-day contract effective Aug. 1. Mason replaces Kristie Steyer, who is leaving July 31 for a position with the Weathersfield Local School District.
* Approved a one-year agreement with Best Life Therapy for in-person speech therapy services for the 2025-26 year.
* Approved an agreement with Keystone Blind Association for orientation services in August.
* Approved an agreement with Youngstown State University and Julia Williams for a school psychology internship.
* Approved an agreement with AT&T for phone service units for TCESC classrooms at the Girard City School District.
* Approved an agreement with Integrated Financial Solutions for the purchase and leasing of computer equipment.
* Approved an agreement with Securly for student device content filtering and protection.
