Julia E. Naples 1927-2025

AUSTINTOWN — Julia Elizabeth Naples, 98, previously of Youngstown, passed away after a long and beautiful life, Friday, June 27, 2025, at AustinWoods Care Facility in Austintown.

“Jay,” as she was affectionately known, was born March 14, 1927, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Vincent and Angeline Yurak.

Julia married the love of her life, George L. Naples, on July 23, 1949, and they shared 43 years of marriage and many wonderful memories. He preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 1992.

Julia was a longtime member of St. Christine Church in Youngstown.

She is survived by her children, Nancy (Allen) Johnson of Howland, Susan (Michael) Walsh of Austintown and Elaine (Mark) Taylor of Boardman; grandchildren, Christopher (Gretchen) Walsh of Hilliard, Megan (Michael) Greenwalt of Youngstown, Timothy Walsh of Boardman, Julie (Caleb) Muhs

of Omaha, Nebraska, Melissa (Philip) Garvy of Northbrook, Illinois, and Paul Taylor of Fort Myers, Florida; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, Julia was preceded in death by her sisters, Catherine Medovich and Angeline Bisciglia; and her brothers, Vincent Yurak and James Yurak.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2025, at St. Christine Church, 3165 Schenley Ave., Youngstown, with Fr. John Jerek officiating. Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.

The family would like to thank the staff at AustinWoods for their outstanding care and unwavering compassion during Julia’s final days.
