Beverly J. Sullivan 1927-2025

LARGO, Fla. — Beverly J. Sullivan, 98, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 5, 2025, in the care of hospice at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Born in Youngstown to William E. and Ruth M. Lewis, she graduated from South High School and attended Kent State University.

As a young girl, some of her fondest memories included swimming and dancing at Idora Park, along with bike riding and ice skating in Mill Creek Park.

Bev was a loving mother, an excellent homemaker and a golfer. At one point, she held the title of women’s golf champ at Tippecanoe Country Club in Canfield. She also was awarded the title of Mrs. Santa Claus for her fundraising work with All Children’s Hospital of St. Petersburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Lewis; her sister, Margaret Welsh; and her husband of 60 years, Jimmy Sullivan, whom she married in 1949.

Bev is survived by her two sons, Gary (Janet) and Terry (Ellen); two grandchildren, Ryan Sullivan (Kristina) and Patrick Sullivan (Ali); two stepgrandchildren, Jennifer Stockard (Terry) and Christy Lewis (Nathaniel); and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind two nieces, Jill Welsh and Cathy Martin, and nephew, Jimmy Welsh.

Bev was a special lady and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
