Angela Lonardo 1933-2025

POLAND — Angela “Angie” Lonardo, 91, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Hospice House.

Angie was born July 16, 1933, in Struthers, the daughter of Giorgio Pascale and Maria Magazzine Pascale. Angie graduated in 1951 from South High School.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Pascale of Cleveland and Michael Pascale of San Clemente, California.

She married Robert “Bob” Lonardo on Jan. 21, 1956, at St. Patrick Church in Youngstown. They lived happily and raised a family on the south side of Youngstown, across from Pemberton Swimming Pool. Angie was, to her final days, an Avon Representative for more than 50 years.

In 1998, they moved to New Middletown until she lost her beloved husband in November 2000. She remained in her home and lived independently until her death.

Angie was always hosting friends for coffee and her baking skills were well known to everyone. She also enjoyed several visits to see family in Orange County, California, and loved the slots in Las Vegas!

She is survived by her two children, Robert “Rob” Lonardo of Denver, Colorado; and her daughter, Maria Burky of Berlin Center. She also dearly loved her sons-in-law, Keith Serrao of Denver and Les Burky of Berlin Center. She has one grandson, Christopher, with whom she was very close.

Angie also insisted that her dear neighbors, Grace Cohen and Helen Planey, both of New Middletown, know how much she loved them and cherished their friendship. She also wanted to say how blessed she was to have lifelong friendships and family, especially Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Barbessi of Canfield, and her goddaughter, Joyce Ricks of Poland.

Per her request, there will be no calling hours or services.

A memorial Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Poland. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband in Poland Riverside Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Higgins Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.
