Vicki L. Hutch 1954-2025

Together again
NEW MIDDLETOWN — Vicki L. Hutch passed away peacefully Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the age of 71, after a courageous 10-year battle with cancer, surrounded by her adoring family at her bedside. She is now joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Jerry, whom she married Jan. 30, 1971, making it just shy of 50 years.
She was born May 10, 1954, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late William and Freda “Vicky” Lipscomb Chipps.
Vicki dedicated her life to her family, imbuing each moment with love and care as she raised her children. Her strength, grace and unwavering spirit were evident throughout her long journey with illness, inspiring all who knew her.
Vicki’s vibrant personality shone through in her passions. She found joy in shopping, thrifting and antiquing — always on the hunt for “good finds” wherever her travels took her. She loved feeding others, often expressing her care through a warm meal or a favorite treat. She also enjoyed exploring new places and cherished every opportunity to travel.
Her bond with her children was deep and unconditional — Jimmy was always her beloved “mama’s boy,” and Jennifer was not only her daughter but her best friend and confidante.
Vicki was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Hutch; brother, William Chipps; and her brother-in-law, James Zimmerman.
She will be deeply missed by her children, James (Deana) Hutch of Poland and Jennifer (Brian) Flynn of New Middletown; two grandchildren, Olivia Flynn — her pride and joy, whom she supported wholeheartedly in everything she did — and Kaitlyn (Tony Durgham) Flynn, with whom she also shared many meaningful moments; siblings, Marilyn (Andrew “Jack”) Yurko of Boardman, Paula Zimmerman of Youngstown, Debby (Gary) Parella and Danny (Diane “Dee”) Chipps; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Chipps of Poland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2025, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, with calling hours 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
