Thomas Pilkington 1940-2025
LOWELLVILLE — Thomas Pilkington, 85, passed away peacefully at his home, Wednesday, June 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born April 14, 1940, in Needham, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Fred and Blanche Ward Pilkington.
Thomas earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Northeastern College in Boston, Massachusetts. He married the love of his life, Marilee Perry, in 1965, and they shared 60 beautiful years of marriage.
Tom was employed at General Motors in human resources for 47 years, which required him to relocate throughout his career, ultimately ending in retirement to Lowellville in 2011.
He was an active member of Holy Rosary, serving as a Eucharistic minister during that time. A passionate golfer, he was often found on the green at Bedford Trails with friends. He proudly built and coached the Lowellville High School golf team, leading them to the state championship match twice. In his free time, he loved cheering for his favorite hockey team, the Boston Bruins, and enjoying a cherry vanilla cone from Handel’s Ice Cream. He was an avid reader and will always be remembered in his favorite beach chair, under an umbrella on the beaches of Cape Hatteras in North Carolina with a book in hand.
Above all, Thomas cherished his role as a loving husband, father and papa. His time with family brought him the greatest joy.
In addition to his loving wife, Marilee Pilkington, he is survived by his two sons, Thomas Pilkington of Lowellville and Daniel (Kimberly) Pilkington of Wentzville, Missouri; his adored grandchildren, Hasten and Hadley Pilkington, also of Wentzville; sister-in-law, Sue; and nephews, Don and Chris Pilkington of Massachusetts; along with his cherished pets, Macy and Clawd.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Donald Pilkington.
