Richard Weibling 1946-2025

AUSTINTOWN — Richard “Richie” Weibling, 78, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Oasis Center for Rehabilitation and Healing in Youngstown.
Richie was born June 21, 1946, in Youngstown, a son of the late Paul and Marian Weibling. He lived for a short time in Columbus before returning to the Youngstown area, where he spent most of his life.
Richie touched the lives of those around him in quiet but meaningful ways. He found comfort in familiar routines and great joy in simple pleasures — watching sports on television, listening to music and enjoying his favorite foods, especially sweets, and was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Since 2015, Richie had been part of the Turning Point family and participated in the No Limits Day Program, where he formed lasting bonds with staff and peers. He was especially loved by the caring team at Redgate 1 and by his dedicated home life caregivers, who supported and advocated for him with compassion and respect.
Richie was also cared for by APSI (Advocacy & Protective Services Inc.), which served as his guardian and helped guide important decisions in his life.
Richie is survived by his brother, Thomas Weibling of Naples, Florida; several nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Richie was preceded in death by a brother, Guy Weibling.
A private celebration of Richie’s life was held Thursday, June 12, 2025.
Richie will be laid to rest in Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Austintown.
