Mark M. Jones 1978-2025

WARREN — Mark Michael Jones, 46, passed away Friday, May 30, 2025.

Born Sept. 14, 1978, Mark attended Newton Falls High School. He was a passionate baseball player; he grew up playing from Little League all the way to pitching for the Toledo Mud Hens.

He later pursued his education at ITT Tech, earning his degree as a millwright. Mark’s entrepreneurial drive led him to establish his own company, “Simply Handy,” a home improvement business, before taking on the role of maintenance supervisor at Uniserve.

A true free spirit, Mark lived life on his own terms, hiking the Appalachian Trail, traveling the country and embracing the simplicity of the open road. He found joy in working on cars, spending days by the river, and, as time passed, cherishing moments with his family and grandchildren. Those who knew him remember his kindness, saying, “We can’t remember him ever speaking an ill word of anyone. He was always just happy to have everyone around.”

Mark was deeply loved by his fiancee, Jamie, who stood by his side through life’s adventures. He is survived by his mother, Mary Catherine Riley; and his father, Michael Allen Jones. His siblings include his sisters, Lesley Colla Groubert (Brian), Laura Colla and Erin Jones; as well as his brother, Nicholas Colla (Ashley). Mark was the proud father of True Elizabeth Workman (Tre); and a devoted grandfather to his three grandchildren, loving them more than life itself. He cherished his many nieces and nephews as well. Among them, he held a special bond with his nephew, Ethan Krupsa, whom he took under his wing. Nate and Quincey also held a special place in his heart, as he considered them his own children. He was also deeply loved by his godmother, Peg Ellashek, and aunts who played a special role in his life.

The family has chosen to hold a small, intimate gathering to say their goodbyes and honor Mark’s life in a personal way.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mark’s honor to the charity or organization of your choice.
