George Siva 1932-2025
YOUNGSTOWN — George Siva, 93, passed away peacefully Friday morning, May 30, 2025.
George was born April 24, 1932, in Campbell, the son of Andrej and Anna Hajcak Siva.
At his first job as a delivery man for Youngstown’s City Office and Art Supply Company, he met the love of his life, Anna Mae.
While attending Youngstown College, he worked as a machinist at Youngstown Sheet and Tube Campbell Works. He continued his career as the superintendent of maintenance until the mill closed. He then went on to work for the United States Postal Service for 12 years.
George’s true passion was photography. Beginning in 1954, George captured the greatest of life’s moments for many families, friends and couples. He brought smiles to many faces for over 30 years, retiring in 1986.
George was a 1950 Graduate of Campbell Memorial High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and the business manager for the yearbook. After graduation, he served on many reunion committees.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville and Knights of Columbus Council No. 2596 in Poland. He was also a member of American Legion Post 247.
George faithfully served his country as a private first class with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, earning a Good Conduct Medal.
Prior to entering the Army, George married Anna Mae Cicuto on April 30, 1954. Anna Mae passed away May 20, 2009.
George will always be remembered lovingly by his three daughters, Leida (Joe) Shuluga, Teresa (John) Norris and Mary Beth (Rick) Crozier; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Siva; 12 grandchildren, Katie (Dave) Olson, Joseph (Karley) Shuluga, Nicholas (Ashley) Shuluga, Andrew and Anthony Siva, Shelby Norris, Rachel (Rodney) Wells, Georganna Norris, and Derrick, Carmella, Dillon and Dallas Crozier; five great grandchildren, David and Angelina Olson, Joseph Michael “Tre” Shuluga III, and Enzley and Paizley Shuluga; sister, Loretta Hamley; and sister-in-law, Dolores Schurko.
Besides his wife and parents, George was preceded in death by a son, George Siva Jr., and three infant siblings.
The family will receive relatives and friends 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville, followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial.
George will be laid to rest in Our Lady of Holy Rosary Cemetery, where his dedicated service to our country will be respectfully recognized with national military honors and the great men of VFW Post 9571 of Ellsworth.
