David A. Taylor 1955-2025
NILES — David A. Taylor, 70, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
He was born May 8, 1955, in Ravenna, the eldest son of Harold and Barbara Ann Deluca Taylor.
David was a 1973 graduate of Ravenna High School and graduated from Kent State University in 1977 with his bachelor’s degree in biology.
He married Kim Scarnecchia on Dec. 18, 1982, and together they had two beautiful sons, Vincent and Dominic.
Dave retired from Graybar Electric in 2023 after 35 years of service, grateful for the friends he had made there through the years.
He was a wonderful husband and father who loved his family more than anything in the world and lived a full life of love, laughter and giving.
Dave loved to travel with his wife and friends, visiting many places, including his childhood dream of going to Egypt and Italy. He was a member of St. Pope John XXIII Parish-Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and the Italian Club. He was an avid reader, exchanging books with his cousin next door. He enjoyed gardening and loved sharing his garden with anyone who visited, fishing with “Cap’n Joe” on Lake Erie and catching walleye, making wine with his father-in-law, Ron, and cooking for his family and friends.
He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Kim Taylor; son, Dominic of Niles; brothers and sisters, Jim (Kelly) Taylor of Fairmont, W.Va., Natalie (William) Wright and Pam (Dan) Au, both of Louisville, Angela (Stephen) Francis of Randolph, Arleen (Steven) Pauff of Newnan, Georgia, Phillip (Denice) Taylor of Medina, Roberta Taylor Bavaro of Seville, and Victoria (David) Wojcik, and Roger (Christina) Taylor, both of North Canton; sister-in-law, Susan Scarnecchia of Warren; brother-in-law, Ron (Anita) Scarnecchia of Jacksonville, Florida; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his son, Vincent Taylor, and his parents, Harold and Barbara Taylor.
A memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2025, at St. Pope John XXIII Parish-Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Niles.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Vincent Anthony Taylor Memorial Scholarship, care of Niles McKinley High School; the Second Harvest Food Bank of Mahoning County; or a donation of a book to a library of choice, in his memory.
Arrangements are being handled by the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles. Family and friends can visit www.josephrossifuneralhome.com to view this obituary and send condolences to David’s family.
