Robert J. Terek 1946-2025

POLAND — Robert J. Terek, 78, passed away peacefully, Friday, May 9, 2025, at Mercy Health Hospice of the Valley, surrounded by his loved ones.

Robert was born Aug. 21, 1946, in Youngstown, to the late Charles M. Terek and Emily Kracko Terek.

Robert “Bob” graduated from Campbell Memorial High School in 1964 before furthering his education at Youngstown State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1969. Born with a passion for problem solving and a deep sense of dedication, he enjoyed a fulfilling career as an electrical engineer, earning certification as a professional engineer, dedicating many years to Ohio Edison and later, FirstEnergy. His work ethic, sharp mind and steady presence left a lasting impression on his colleagues and the industry alike.

In retirement, Bob continued to live a life full of purpose. He found great joy in gardening, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering his time making pierogies with the community at St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Parish — a tradition that brought him both joy and connection.

He is survived by his sons, Robert J. (Megan) Terek of Annandale, Virginia, Christopher N. St. Pierre of Columbus and Ryan J. Terek of Columbus. He also leaves behind his brother, Carl M. (Geri) Terek of Campbell; his nephew, Carl M. Terek; his niece, Carlie M. Peshek; and his great-nephew, Aidan. Robert’s family was enriched by the presence of his first wife, Roslyn Terek; his second wife, Yvonne St. Pierre; and his current fiancee, Sally Mackey. Each of them, along with many friends and extended family, will carry forward his memory and the warmth of his love.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, strength and quiet generosity.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Jeffrey Peshek.
