Merle Jeffers 1934-2025

POLAND — Merle Jeffers, 90, formerly of Champion, passed Friday, May 9, 2025, at The Inn at Poland Way.

He was born Aug. 23, 1934, in Warren, the son of the late Merle K. and Jennie McNeilly Jeffers.

Merle retired as the owner and founder of Jeffers Realty Co. Inc., which he started in 1963 in Champion. He enjoyed woodcarving, traveling and Ohio sports.

Merle was married to the late Mary Clyborn Jeffers, whom he married June 7, 1958.

He is survived by his sisters, Janice (the late William) Hughes and Linda (David) Sekela; a son, Mark (Vonnie) Jeffers of Plymouth, Michigan; daughter, Karen (James) Constas of Poland; grandchildren, Christopher Jeffers of Plymouth, Michigan, Taylor (Courtney) Jeffers of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Madeline (Tim) McHugh of Plymouth, Michigan, Kayla DiVito (Jimmy Demidovich) of Canfield and Cameron DiVito of Austin, Texas; and great-granddaughters, Isla Jeffers of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Matilda McHugh of Plymouth, Michigan.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Buckeye Hospice and the staff at The Inn at Poland Way for their care and compassion.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Cremation services have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, Warren.

Interment will be in Champion Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Buckeye Hospice in Merle’s memory.
