LOWELLVILLE — Lawrence “Larry” T. Liptak, 79, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Caprice Health Care Center in North Lima.

Larry was born Nov. 8, 1945 in Youngstown, a son of Stephen and Elizabeth Rivalsky Liptak.

He was a 1964 graduate of Struthers High School. Larry served in the U.S. Army Reserves from April 9, 1966 until Aug. 25, 1971.

Larry married the love of his life, the former Nancy Uhrin on Sept. 7, 1968, and they shared almost 57 years of marriage.

He worked for Youngstown Sheet and Tube as a millwright and then joined the Teamsters Union and worked for the Tamarkin Company until his retirement in 2018.

Larry was of the Catholic faith and was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Church in Struthers.

Larry enjoyed playing cards, his dogs and riding his Harley. He also liked watching movies, working on cars, gardening, attending car shows and going to the flea market and having a sausage sandwich. He loved talking about the good old days and the cars he once owned, especially Piggy Packard Powered Pontiac and his favorite, which he purchased brand new, a 1967 Chevelle SS 396. You could always be sure to find Larry BS-ing with his friends around the neighborhood and telling a good joke. Above all he loved his family with all his heart, especially his seven grandchildren and attending all their events.

Larry will be deeply missed and always remembered by his wife, Nancy; his children, Heather (Howard Burns) Liptak of Coitsville Twp., George (Jonelle) Liptak of Struthers and Christopher (Tracie) Liptak, also of Struthers; his seven grandchildren, Dominic, Addison, Nicholas, Mateo and Gianna Liptak, Cooper and Toby Liptak; and his dog Carson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Thomas Liptak and Stephen “Diddy” Liptak; and his grandson, Andrew Liptak.
