Mahoning County gets $440K state grant to prevent infant mortality

The Ohio Commission on Minority Health awarded $440,000 to Mahoning County Public Health for its program to help prevent infant mortality and improve birth outcomes.

The county’s Pathway Community HUB Model connects certified community health workers with high-risk mothers and coordinates appropriate and timely prenatal clinical care. The health workers also address education, employment, housing, behavioral health and support to other essential services.
