Kenneth Neil Bailey 1944-2024

POLAND — Kenneth Neil Bailey, 79, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Tuesday, Oct. 29. 2024.

Kenneth was born in Cleveland. He received his Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C., and worked as a career criminal prosecutor for 38 years. Kenneth was a criminal prosecutor in Portage, Mahoning, and Trumbull counties in Ohio, who took pride in and enjoyed his career serving the State of Ohio.

Kenneth was married to Margo, his wife, in 1995, whom he met while working in Mahoning County. Kenneth loved staying active and earned his black belt in karate. He loved kickboxing and comic book collecting. He was an avid reader, often reading multiple books at one time such as science fiction, fiction and horror. He enjoyed horror movies and spaghetti Westerns, as well as listening to Bob Dylan, Celtic and folk music, along with the Miami Vice soundtrack. He had a light and quirky nature with a streak of dark humor, and loved sending humorous birthday cards to family and friends. He liked to travel, take walks at Holden Arboretum and was a supporter of the arts.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Edith and Irving Bailey of Cleveland; and in-laws, Rosa and Jose Rosado of Youngstown.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margarita; and his cherished children, sons, Clifford Bailey of Cincinnati and Daniel Bailey of San Diego, California, and a daughter, Brittany Bowyer (Erik) of Boardman; along with two grandchildren, Anderson and Arielle Bailey of Cincinnati. He also leaves behind his brother, Dr. Ronald Bailey (Daryl) of Pepper Pike; and a sister, Deborah Kritzer (Marc) of Auburn Township; as well as many loving family members and friends.

Friends may visit at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024, followed by services at 11:30 a.m., at Shriver-Allison-Courtley-Weller-King Funeral Home in Youngstown.

The family expresses sincere gratitude to the staff at Briarfield Place for their loving care and support. Kenneth was truly cared for with dignity and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to support a local animal rescue shelter or any charity of your choice.
