John A. Lasko Jr. 1955-2024

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — John Albert Lasko Jr., 69, died peacefully at home, Thursday, Aug. 22, 2024, after a short serious illness.
Johnny was born Feb. 20, 1955, to John Albert and Sue Carol Ross Lasko, at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Norfolk, Virginia. He graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1973. The family lived on Georgetown Place in Austintown before moving to Chesapeake, Virginia, in 1984.
Johnny worked at Bi-Lo grocery store as a manager, and later as a clerk and manager at 7-11, where he remained employed for nearly 40 years.
He enjoyed fishing, collecting coins, card games, and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Johnny deeply loved his entire family and was very generous to all he knew. He made numerous friends at work and was known for his fine sense of humor.
He was a proud member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
Johnny is survived by his mother, Sue Lasko; brother Steve Lasko; and sister, Mary Christe; as well as his nephews, Matthew Eckmann, Mikey Lasko and Jordan Christe; and nieces, Kimmy Bryant and Jordan Christe.
A funeral Mass will be held for Johnny at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, with a visitation the night prior, 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Chesapeake Chapel.
