Helen D. Dubos 1935-2024
CAMPBELL — Helen D. Dubos, 88, passed away peacefully, Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, at her residence.
Helen was born Dec. 29, 1935, in Campbell, the daughter of Michael and Mary Vansuch Dubos.
She was a 1953 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School.
Helen started her career as a very young employee at Christy’s Bakery in Campbell, and, 70 years later, she retired as the bakery’s owner and operator. She was famously known for her kolachi, cheesecake and Easter bread, as well as many more delicious items that her customers would line up for and purchase.
Helen enjoyed playing bingo and she loved all the lottery games. She especially enjoyed her visits to the casino.
She will be deeply missed and always remembered by her nieces, Joyce Nye, Janice (Lou) Lanzo and Diane (Dennis) Roth; her nephew, Jack Dubos; and many great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
Besides her parents, Helen was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Dubos; three brothers, Paul, Michael and John Dubos; and three nephews, Bob, Jim and Paul Dubos.
The Dubos family has entrusted its loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends and family 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024, at St. Michael Byzantine Church in Campbell, followed by a Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m. officiated by the Very Rev. Father Kevin Marks.
Helen will be laid to rest in St. Michael Byzantine Cemetery in Campbell.
