William Evans 1940-2024

Bill was born Feb. 1, 1940, in Youngstown. Bill was a high school graduate of East High School.

A proud Marine, Bill served his country with honor and courage.

Bill was a faithful parishioner at St. Stephen Church in Niles.

Bill dedicated over 30 years of his life to working for Syro Steele in Girard. Beyond his professional achievements, Bill had a wide range of interests that brought him joy. He was an avid golfer, an enthusiastic fan of OSU sports, a skilled woodworker and enjoyed fishing trips in Canada.

He is survived by his children, Mary Dickson of McDonald, Kenny (Vicky) Evans of Girard and William (Debbie) Evans of Toledo. He is also survived by his brother, Rick (Sandy) Evans of Diamond, Ohio, and grandchildren, Gregory, Matthew Lewis, Katie and Bryan.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Evans, who passed away in 2007; and his mother, Elizabeth Evans, who passed away in 2000.

A private Funeral Mass will be held at St.Stephen Church in Niles.

Bill will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery.
