Deborah K. Richter 1953-2024

LEAVITTSBURG — Deborah K. Richter, 70, passed away peacefully into eternal rest, Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

The daughter of Fred B. Dudley and Clara P. Collett Dudley, she was born in Warren, July 9, 1953. Debbie grew up in Niles with a large family but had resided in the Leavittsburg area most of her adult life.

On Aug. 9, 1997, she married her love, Daniel Lee Richter; they enjoyed 21 years of marriage together until his passing, April 5, 2019.

Debbie spent her life surrounded by close friends, including her first husband and her children’s father, Larry J. Moon of Southington, with whom she had a lifelong, loving friendship.

Many will remember her as an iconic server, doling out humor, advice and a welcoming smile until retiring in 2010. She loved her family, her fur babies, gardening, woodworking, the occasional drag race and a great cup of coffee! As the family matriarch, she exemplified the virtues of poise, grace and dignity, and will truly be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daniel; her brother, Randy Dudley; and her beloved Uncle Earl.

She is survived by two daughters, Laurie and John Taylor of Muleshoe, Texas, and Stephanie Moon of Leavittsburg; one son, John Moon of Southington; three sisters, Patricia Hurd of Newton Falls, Cynthia Sippola of Williamsfield and Kimberly Dudley of Warren; one brother, Rick and Barbara Dudley of Salisbury, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Jace, Lindsey, Kyle, Zach, Kirsten, Ashley and Laci; and one great-grandson, Wyatt.

Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the Newton Falls Cemetery, with Pastor Erwin Urschitz officiating.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Daniel, immediately following the service.

The family has requested that all donations please be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, ASPCA, PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929, in her name.
